When thinking of a dream job or dream career, they always say find something you really love. Something that if you were to do for free, you would still do with the same passion as though you were being paid. In my recent career transition, I believe I have found that (testimony to follow). When you find this it’s almost like when you are smitten with someone. You can’t help but bring them into conversation at every opportune time.

With my new career path yes, I am open to share the journey that led to it, but I will do it at the right time. I am especially willing to share with people in my age group and beyond who may think it’s too late to make a career transition. I am especially willing to share the journey with people in my first career looking to change because I know how the field is. I am in a FB group for colleagues in my first career. Somebody was asking for advice on something else and mentioned that they were considering a change in their career. I considered that to be the right time to share something about my career change because the person's situation sounded very familiar.

I answered their initial question and expressed empathy towards their need to change careers after long service in their present career. I shared a little about my transition, encouraged them and offered to chat with them some more if they felt this would be helpful. They said yes and two other people commented that they would also like to have a chat. I was excited and scheduled when to chat with them individually.

During my long journey in finding my new career path, I approached different people from different fields on LinkedIn asking for general advice. 99% were incredibly helpful beyond my imagination. They either scheduled phone calls or organised zoom calls and gave me great advice (absolutely free) and always left their doors open in case I had any questions later on. I am forever grateful because all these conversations led me to where I am. I said 99% were incredibly helpful because there's always one. She told me she had a fee for giving me the advice I needed.

With the numerous helpful conversations I had on LinkedIn, I vowed to always support and help people with career questions and conduct them in the same format I had been graced with. I chatted with the two colleagues on messenger and asked if they preferred phone calls or zooms. They were ok with zooms, and we scheduled the dates. The day before I was to have a conversation with one of them, I messaged them to ask if we were still on. I didn't hear anything. On the day of, I checked messenger to see if they had responded. There was now a message from messenger saying, "This person is unavailable on messenger". I went to the group post where they had commented to see if I could comment under their comment and ask if we were still on. On looking at the post, the persons comment was nowhere to be seen.

Many things came to my mind and all of them are speculation because ultimately, I don't know what happened. One of the things that came to my mind was she blocked me. If I went with this thought, it made me bewildered because if the action had anything to do with me, I did not do anything to be blocked. The messages were our first interaction, and they were pleasant. If she had blocked me, I knew it had nothing to do with me. Then it dawned on me isn't this our behaviour with God sometimes and when we do that, it has nothing to do with God and everything to do with us.

We block Him yet He is trying to help us. He has never done anything to us to make us block him, yet we block him. He has given us oxygen today and that is why we are still alive, yet we block him. At this minute as I write this and as you read this somebody has died while we are here on the internet, yet we block him. Everyone has a struggle that they are going through whether they have shared it with someone or not. God is knocking on our doors wanting to help us because he sees us battle things that are beyond our human capacity, yet we block God. The economy is going into negative places, many are not thriving, the governments are also struggling, yet we block God and his help.

God wants to do for us what he did with Abraham and provide the ram in the thicket, yet we block him. God wants to provide for us when it seems like there is no way at all, yet we block him. There is a drought, water from the tap that is brown, famine, a pandemic, recession, war, and God wants to help yet we block him. There is strife among friends or within families, divorces are high, mommy and daddy issues are increasing, the church has more drama than a reality show, God wants to help, yet we block him.

Abraham was tested and given an assignment that would make the rest of us want to have a serious debate with God or flat out refuse to do what he was asking and block him. Abraham didn't block God. Abraham Listened to God and obeyed him. In my head I feel that Abraham was so obedient to God that when he was told to take his only son whom he loved and offer him as a burnt offering, Abraham said "Say no more". He knew God would come through for him somehow, so even though he was asked to do something so unexpected, out there, wild, and unbelievable, he just did it.

Why? I don't know, but since I know God is a K.P.M.G kind of God (see previous POST), I think he knew and believed that when God asks us to do something, as hard and sacrificial as it is, it will be very wise and obedient of you to do it. Ask Jonah, he was told to go to Nineveh, he disobeyed, next thing, he’s in the belly of a big fish. Having said that we shouldn’t obey God for fear of the consequences. We should obey him because we want to. Abraham must have known it was wise to obey God because you will win even way after you are long gone!

Abraham was blessed and his descendants were multiplied as the stars in the heaven and as the sand on the seashore. By these descendants would the nations of the earth arise and all because he Obeyed God's voice. Abraham had to recognise God's voice to know it was him. How do you know people's voices? You've spoken to them or heard them so many times. Sometimes you can read a written message and without knowing who it’s from, can tell who wrote it (even if it was typed). Sometimes you can even read the written message in their voice. Where do you get to speak to, hear God's voice or read his written message? Prayer and reading the Bible for yourself with the guidance of the divine Helper Jesus left us with, the Holy Spirit, our divine Teacher who teaches us everything! We need to Unblock God in all these areas so we can start hearing what he is telling us directly, instead of listening to the many false teachers of this raggedy world.

God is the Supreme and Best life coach, mentor, financial advisor, investment planner, career advisor, paediatrician, singles-wingman, real estate agent, matchmaker, mortgage advisor, marriage therapist, bereavement counsellor, sex therapist (em hello! didn't he create sex, don't listen to Trey songz), specialist, doula, lactation specialist, fertility expert, Spiritual advisor etc. The Greatest influencer that will ever live because one he lives forever and two, if you unblock him, he can take you to places you have never and can never dream of. What do these humanly influencers do for you? …. I’ll wait.

Unblock God and see the generational blessings that God can place in your life and those of your descendants, that no one can touch or take away. Unblock God and let him work on your behalf instead of you trying to create generational wealth that is here today gone tomorrow because of situations not in your control. What good is generational wealth when the generations are afflicted by generational curses like disease, family strife and jealousy (ask Abel, his brother killed him) and lack of wisdom to manage said generational wealth. Our heavenly Father knows all the things we desire and knows we do need many of them. He asks us to seek first his Kingdom and... Unblock him.

May The Good Lord Bless you and Keep you.
