The Thing You Are Running Away From Is The Very Thing That Will Help You

When you pray "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.".... when you pray "create in me a clean heart O God; and renew a right spirit within me." the answer is very likely to come during conflict.

So don’t evade conflict, its answering your prayer!

And if you're not praying "search me or Lord", "create in me a clean heart", the answer is still coming…. probably and most likely in the form of conflict

You can't run away! And don't run away!

I'm watching a comedy by Michael Jr on "Funny how marriage works" and what I'm learning is that conflict is a revelation tool.

I remember a preacher once saying tribulation is there to show you who you are, who people are and most of all who God is.

So when it comes to conflict, I feel I can extrapolate that in that conflict is there

to show you who you REALLY are (don't judge yourself), show you who the person you are in conflict with REALLY is (don't judge them), and show you who God REALLY is.

It's an opportunity to REALLY seek God so he can REALLY help you. When he tells you how to proceed, it requires your obedience.

So turns out conflict is an opportunity for obedience to God.

The biggest part of how that obedience looks like in conflict is in this other verse in the Excellent Book; "Give up your own way, take up your own cross and follow Jesus" The ERV version says ...If any of you want to be my follower, you must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry the cross that is given to you for following me." Clobber me Jesus! Clobber me!

When you are next in conflict, guaranteed by the fact that we are all descendants of raggedy Adam & Eve, remember conflict is:

  1. A revelation tool

  2. An opportunity to give up your own way i.e. selflessness, like Jesus, sinless and innocent yet nailed to the cross. (I can hear someone say well I'm not Jesus. To that I say just hang out with the Prince of Peace, the Wonderful Counsellor and the Peace that surpasses all understanding when the fire you are in is heated 7 times hotter, will become your daily way of living)

  3. An opportunity to show obedience to God.
