One Has To Go

miss_tpa

I often write a testimony about one incident but in reality, there are often many mini testimonies that I don’t write about from the many things that happen in the week. I heard a pastor preaching and he made a powerful point and said some people will get it on Wednesday. The same is true for testimonies. There are those testimonies that my eyes are not yet open to see, acknowledge and be grateful for, but Wednesday is coming.

I remember the story of the children of Israel as they crossed the river Jordan with the ark. “When the soles of the priests who carried the ark, dipped in the brink of the water, the waters coming down from above stood and rose in a heap and those flowing down…where wholly cut off and the people passed over dry ground!” When the priests stepped into the water, that’s when the Lord did wonders for them, yet again!

There is something that happens when you move in and walk by faith. Wonders begin to happen. We live in a world full of logic, reasoning, rationale, evidence and evidence based and there is a place for that. We also have a God who defies all of that and what we know. If you chose to understand his ways you won’t because the world has conditioned you to see logic, reasoning, rationale, evidence-based research, science, protocol, standard operating procedures etc. There is also one who is determined for you Not to see things in the realm of faith because he knows your life would change for the better, not just now but for eternity. What I am saying is when you believe in God, faith needs to supersede logic.

Trying to use logic to understand what happens in life will drive you nuts, insane, weary and to despair. This is why the Excellent Book says lean not on your own understanding because you won’t understand the things that happen in life especially the traumatic ones. For some, trying to understand the events of life has driven them away from believing in the Source all miracles and the Giver of eternity, the place where all our problems WILL cease to exist forever. The place of no more sorrow, no more tears, no more heartache, no more confusion, no more despair. The place of pure, consistent, and effortless Joy that far exceeds all the positives and happy times we’ve had combined, on this earth. How can we miss that after all we’ve been through on this earth?

My testimony this week is I’ve had my own version of crossing the Jordan. Crossing the Jordan means stepping out in faith when you don’t know what will happen and whatever good you’re hoping for, you also don’t know HOW it will happen. One thing about humans and I am certainly one of those, is we love to know what will happen and how it will happen. When we don’t, we are unsettled or we begin to doubt it will ever happen, then we give up and or put on our unbelieving “never” lenses. “It will never happen for me” “I’ll never be the same” “I’ll never meet anyone special” or “I’m not good enough” (insert yours here). From the bonus post I shared A place of Peace, it is my testimony that the peace I felt on that Sunday continued right through the week and the Faithful God that I know, showed me yet again, he is with me and most importantly working for me and not against me.

Where other weeks have had more No’s than yes’s, it was evident that this week, God wanted me to know the same way he has been there for others, from Bible times all the way to 2023, is the same way he is with me. A few doors have been opening this week. Places where I am used to getting rejections, I am now getting a “Welcome, please have a seat”. The thing about having no’s is you get used to them, and your goggles start to expect them, even when there is no reason it should be a no. I had sent an application for a really good opportunity and the next day, received a response. I “knew” it was a rejection because in the past, when I have had a next day response, it has been a rejection. It appears I am scarred and have conditioned myself to expect that receiving a response for an application the next day, means it will be bad news. Well, it wasn’t! praise God!

This is where faith needs to come in. Faith doesn’t and shouldn’t rely on the past. Faith relies on the supernatural ability and power of this wonderful sovereign God. Faith is not about expecting the worst. God is not a worst kind of God. God is a Good God, Yes he is, so faith is about expecting good things. Hallelujah! Faith is also parallel and the complete opposite of the approvals and conditionings of the world.

Faith and logic cannot be in the same house, one has to go. Faith and reasoning cannot be in the same living room, one has to go. Faith and rationale cannot be in the same kitchen, one has to go. Faith and evidence cannot be in the same home office, one has to go. Faith and research cannot be in the same bathroom, one has to go. Faith and science cannot be in the same tv room, one has to go. What I am saying is Faith and logical explanation cannot be in the same space, one has to go. Where I am used to things happening a certain way, often not in my favour, Faith says, that doesn’t matter. Faith says a new thing will be done and most importantly in my favour. I can’t wait to see the new things God will do for me this week regardless of the outcomes of similar situations in the past.

If you look at all the stories in the Excellent Book, they show a God who does ridiculous and crazy things, but he is NOT! Ridiculous and crazy. At the risk of sounding corny I will say it this way. God is “crazy” about us and will do “ridiculous” things for us because he Loves us beyond any love that exists in this entire universe and definitely beyond our human understanding. He will do anything for us, if we believe, i.e., if we have faith. This week I have seen when I operate in unwavering faith, a place of peace becomes the house I live in. It is not a pit stop.

When the Excellent Book says taste and see that the Lord is good, this week has been a witness to that. The Lord is not only good when things go right. The fact I can say that statement is a massive testimony in itself. The Lord is good because even when things are going left, he has a way of keeping you in peace contrary to the natural laws of your body. For me this is victory. To live in a crazy ridiculous world/life but be in peace. To go through crazy ridiculous things and not be in despair.

My role models Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego are the marker of this victory I am talking about. The fire comes, but you are not burnt, in fact there is no evidence you are in the fire or have been in the fire. Not because of your great personality, strength in character, integrity, superior qualifications, and prime networks but because there is a living God willing to defy any of his creation just because he Loves you. If God decides you will walk on water, walk on water is just what you will do. Ask Peter. If God decides to make the sun stop just for you, so you can get a good dose of vitamin D to help your bones, he will do that just for you. Ask Joshua minus the vitamin D part.

My challenge to you is, today or this week, believe in God with no doubt, not you, not your current reality, skill or deficient skill, for something. Let not your painful or traumatic past, hinder the belief in God’s skill and CV/resume. Remember he defies his own creation just for you so believe in him for something really big and impossible. Then supersize it again because there is nothing too hard for him. Don't wait to die to rest in peace, believe and get to live in peace. Believe in this God who makes water heap up and does things opposite to any worldly logic, reasoning, rationale, science not once but multiple times, because he is God alone. Ok you’re saying his miracles are only nature based. Believe in the God who gave Sarah a child in menopause and see if you won’t sing the anthem of this blog, God is Good, God is Great, God is Ultimately the Best.
