Imagine You're In The Garden of Eden: Part 2

The serpent had first checked with raggedy eve, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” This means and highlights, the devil KNOWS full well what God has instructed us. Now is the devil on Gods’ side? No! This means whatever God tells you, it is the devils’ mission to get us to do the opposite, always! To do this, he knows and understands he has to listen out to what God is saying.

Which means while we may not be listening to what God is saying in the many ways he can say it, the devil is paying attention, noting it down, and meditating on it, so he can come to each one of us and get us to do the opposite. How will he get us to do the opposite if he doesn’t know the instruction to begin with! The Excellent Book says the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, which means he has to think ahead, think smart and think way ahead of us.

So, he knows the Excellent Book regardless of whether we know or read the Excellent Book. Ask Jesus when he was in the desert when the devil was tempting him. The devil was quoting from the Excellent Book. Which means we should not be playing with him in any shape or form. But when we think you know enough like raggedy eve, we may entertain him, thinking “it’s just a conversation” Well let’s see how this “conversation “went.

Raggedy eve told the serpent how God had said they shouldn’t eat the fruit or even touch it, lest they die. Genesis 3:4 is where death of the Truth and everything perfect as we would like, occurred. That was the lie that has caused all the suffering, destruction, sorrow, grief and pain that we currently have and will sadly continue to experience on this earth. The devil used the serpent to tell raggedy eve a lie that would cost her in ways she couldn’t fathom. The same continues to happen to us today.

A few weeks ago, I concluded that actually it’s not us who have suffered the most. Imagine having everything in the world and not the way R&B singers will say they’ll give you the world. Adam and Eve had EVERYTHING, the whole earth. Then they had nothing after being evicted.

They also had to experience things they’d never known; work, cook, farm, bury, experience physical & emotional pain, disease, stay away from animals which had previously been safe, build a house or such, get money, account for money and everything that we do today. I also think they experienced the deepest regret, shame and guilt a human has ever felt.

For us we know the kind of life we will have. Imagine the shock they had when now death of all I’ve mentioned and more, happened. They suffered and the sad part was that it was their own choice. They chose not to listen to God and chose to listen to the devil who came with lies that fed into their unbelief, greed and perhaps insecurities. I also believe there was a level of “I got this” but they really didn’t.

The tale must have been so bad for them, we don’t get to read what happened to them beyond the devastation of losing both sons. One being killed and one being banished for killing his brother. Then again when you read that part alone, and also see where they came from and where they landed, we don’t need more details.

The devil continued to lie to raggedy eve that if she ate the fruit her eyes will be opened. Now I come for my sisters, and I include myself in the mix. Earlier I said how some of my sisters my say how some men lack accountability. Where does this come from? It could be from many settings including the romantic setting where we’ve believed what a guy has told us, when we’ve shared this with our friends, they’ve told us very directly, leave that guy alone. Did some of us listen, no. Even though our eyes were open, they were in fact closed! Then from that we expect the same guy to take accountability. Death of sanity continues to this day.

The minute raggedy adam and eve ate that fruit; though their eyes were opened I feel they were closed. Everyone has seen how the daughters of God have been lied to and continue to put themselves in situations to be lied to. There’s a sister who was having an affair with a married man who promised to divorce his wife. Eyes closed, though open. Listen! Camilla is the exception.

There’s a sister who has been with her husband 14 years and he’s cheated 7 times (saw this on YouTube). Eyes closed, though open. There’s a sister who has gone through traumatic things, unfortunately hasn’t given them to the Healer of Healers, the Life & Resurrection to heal them, then unfortunately finds herself on paternity court or Maury for the 5^th time because the daddy ain’t the daddy. Eyes closed, though open.

The devil is all about deception. For my brothers the deception has continued in an unprecedented way, such that my sister looks beautiful and because we are family, I’m going to be free with you as I write this. My sister is a delight to your eyes, and like Song of Solomon puts it, she has two fawns (definitely not scrawny), twins of a gazelle, and a behind that can hold your winter beverage till your next sip, so long as she doesn’t move. The same, same delight that caught eve out is the same one that will deceive you and you will see my sister was born as Matthew. My point here is that what it looks like is not what it is. I repeat the devil came to steal, kill and destroy and he does this through deception that you will not know or even believe.

How many times have you seen your friend move on the path of a bad choice and they just don’t see it. How many times have you tried to tell people something, and they just don’t receive it. A big one is when it comes to God. The eyes of humans are closed to him, even as they are open. We want peace, love, joy, wisdom, wealth, prosperity, things that God can give easily and even more. Ask Solomon, when God asked what could he give Solomon. Solomon asked for wisdom, and because he didn’t ask for long life or riches or the life of his enemies, he was given the wisdom he asked for in plenty, plus the bonus of riches and honour.

But because human eyes are closed though open, they will go anywhere but God, to try and get those things. They don’t see that it's God who can give those things. In addition to that, like raggedy adam and eve, humans will continue to hide from the presence of God.  With that they won’t even hear what God is telling them. That he can give them all the desires of their heart. This is exactly what the devil wanted.
