When you stop believing in God because of calamity or tragedy, the below maybe what has happened.

Maybe you didn’t understand God

Maybe you didn’t understand life

Maybe you didn’t understand sin

Maybe you didn’t understand the origin of sin

Maybe you didn’t understand free will

Maybe you didn’t understand in this life u will have tribulation (this never means you deserve said tribulation)

Maybe you didn’t read the bible

Maybe you didn’t understand the bible

Maybe you understood all these but still don’t understand the tragedy you have or are going through.

It’s ok not to understand. Somethings will never be understood.

You are also not to blame for not understanding what you don’t understand.

The good news is you still have the chance to get to explore what you never understood before or struggle to understand, even though somethings will never be understood.

The reason there is good news is because you won’t get to work on understanding what you don’t understand on your own.

God himself whom you don’t understand, will teach you if you let him.

Who better to teach you about God than God himself. Just like who better to teach someone about you other than you.

Why wud you want to understand, when you’ve stopped believing in God?

You don’t understand life

You don’t understand why bad things happen

You don’t understand why bad things have happened to you

You don’t understand why bad things have happened to your loved ones

You certainly don’t understand why that one time you earnestly prayed with all your heart, soul and might, God didn’t even answer your prayer.  Now, you’re loved one is gone, or you’ve ended up going through a traumatic situation.

You have questions that no one seems to know how to answer or nothing that has been said will or can satisfy you.

I want to suggest something that may sound opposite of what you are looking for. Hear me out. When you have a problem with someone, what do you do? You talk to them and tell them how you feel. So, tell God how you feel. Yes, the same one you felt didn’t hear or listen to you. He will listen to you if you give him a chance. You can then ask him all the questions you have. But last time he didn't hear me, why would he hear me now? Because you are in pain. This is not to say he only listens when you are in pain. If you give him a chance you will see the truth about his listening skills.

Ask your questions and vent.

He will tell you what you can hear or hold.

He will tell you when you are ready.

For the things that will never be understood, he may have an appointed time and place to tell you. It may be on earth or in eternity. What time he will tell you will be God o’clock otherwise known as Gods’ timing.

If you are willing to ask him everything in your heart with no fear, be open minded, open hearted and listen, however long it takes, it will be a journey, but you will begin to understand more than you do now. I can guarantee this in Jesus’ name.

God can not “strike you down” for asking him deep and bold questions. He loves questions, it means you’re thinking and seeking wisdom. What’s wrong with that?

Step 1: Ask God the many questions you have. All of them- the weird ones, the ones that carry pain that you still can't speak about, and the ones you feel you would be judged for. Write them all as specifically as you’ve ever thought/wondered. Keep adding to the list as the days go by or the more you think about what you’ve been through or are going through.

Step 2: Do what you do, when you’re researching someone you want to do some work in your house. Go to Gods’ “website” and see what he is all about, what he says about himself, what he does, his mission statement, his vision, his corporate responsibility to the world, his contacts, check out his reviews etc. I would say start from the tab marked Genesis but if you’re driven to start elsewhere do so. Just like you do when browsing a website, you will know which “tab” to move to next.

Give it a good try by reading as many “tabs” as you can. When you read a few books of the Bible i.e., Gods' website, you will begin to see why No One could have and can do justice in really explaining to you who God is.

In not being able to do justice in explaining who God is, you will see why you were not to blame for not understanding what you didn't understand.

Understanding the answers to your questions begins with understanding God. Understanding God is something you can only discover for yourself. When you discover for yourself, that’s when you will start getting a glimpse to some of the answers to the hardest questions you’ve ever asked.

Only God can explain it to you, in a way that fits you, your understanding and the life ahead of you. The best part is he wants to teach you what you can hear and hold, because he wants you to know and he knows you need it.

May this be the beginning of a lifestyle of asking God all your questions and the beginning of a lifetime of wisdom that if you ask will be given and generously at that. Ask God all your questions.
