When you really want something, waiting for it to happen can be so hard. Whether you're waiting for this economy to give you a break, that long overdue promotion, a new job, you've swiped right-left, up-down, no date and now you even have carpel tunnel, waiting for your business to recover from the pandemic, or those even deeper, heart string ones-waiting for a successful IVF round and all those other soul-touching desires a human can have. Whatever you may be looking forward to, taking that journey, not even knowing if you will get what you wish for, can be dispiriting.
There are many ways to get through this. One way is to pray for the patience and peace to allow God to execute his plan in his own time. This needs faith. Some have faith which allows them to fully trust in God and praise him in the hallway of the waiting room. For many of us, our faith may occasionally be "shaken AND stirred" to the point we feel angry because it seemingly "looks" like our blessing is not coming! We may feel hope is gone because we’ve waited so long and don’t even know or even believe at this point we will get what we want. Sometimes you let envy swipe its badge and gain access because you see everyone else get their blessing and you can’t help but feel left behind and overall sad. Many times, it’s just lack of comprehension as to "why do they get theirs and I don't".
The most important things to remember are these. God always has a plan for us. Most of the time we may never understand what that plan is but ultimately it is for the BEST. God executes his plans in his own time in his own way. As much as we would like to rush it, we can’t! We have no power or wisdom as He does.
Prayer is the best way to ask for the patience, wisdom and growing faith required, as you wait for your blessings. Patience to let God work in his time, faith to trust that He knows and understands our deepest need and will provide. Wisdom to understand that there is a wonderful, amazing plan He is going to execute for us if we believe, allow, and trust him to.
Sometimes you will pray and feel you have the patience and trust you need to wait for Gods plan. Other times you will pray to get the vital tools you need to wait for Gods execution. Sometimes you may not even be able to pray because you're overwhelmed with how long you have had to wait. The overwhelming feeling may last a short time or a long time. One day you will come to a point where you can’t live with this overwhelming wait. So, what do you do when you have prayed and prayed, and nothing is happening.
Well think of the wait in this way. TBC
